Think of an electronic book designed for deaf people. Well, just read it, you’d say. But, waht about an iPad book complete with sign language for deaf children?
Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy, by iStoryTime, contains three versions of the work: one that children can read themselves, one that would be read to them and one “spoken” in sign language by a woman who stand offs to the side of the screen.
The signed version is actually a QuickTime movie, that the user can pause when needed, and the book runs in reduced size next to her, while she’s using sing language.
You didn’t hear of such a book before, admit it.
It’s US$ 2.99 on App Store, € 2.39.
